Part L – New Build
When building a home, a BER Assessor is required to be involved from the start. County councils require a Part L report to be uploaded along with the commencement notice before you start building. This is a report that outlines how you intend to comply with the building regulations for the conservation of fuel and energy and achieve a minimum A2 BER rating
At Murray EcoDesign Ltd., we provide accurate Provisional BER assessments before the commencement of construction on a new home. We check the proposed design to ensure it will comply with part L of the building regulations and ensure the client has a high-performing home upon completion.
Our initial provisional BER assessment can be done using the proposed plans. Our assessor will liaise with the person building the house to discuss what building techniques they propose and what renewables they would prefer in their house in order to come up with a cost-effective solution that will comply with the building regulations and, most importantly, ensure that the client has a sustainable, energy-efficient house upon completion.
We offer a bespoke service that includes an added ‘builders BER specification sheet’. This specification sheet can be used in the tender process and referred to by the builder throughout the build. Murray EcoDesign will also be available for guidance throughout the build.
